A new proposal in Surrey will bring almost 600 new homes and shelter spaces to the community through three new BC Housing-funded developments helping to support hundreds of people and families in need of affordable and supporting housing.

People living in Metro Vancouver will soon have access to more affordable housing with 400 new rental homes opening and breaking ground in Coquitlam, North Vancouver and Vancouver.

Seniors, including those with mobility challenges, are moving into 18 affordable, accessible homes close to services and amenities in Valemount, helping them stay connected to the community they know and love.

Seniors in Maple Ridge will have access to more affordable housing with construction starting on 98 homes.

Youth transitioning out of foster care, and young mothers in New Westminster are closer to having a safe, stable place to live as construction starts on a new 89-home development in the community.

Adults living with mental-health challenges will continue to have access to low- or no-cost counselling services to help them get well.

People with low to moderate incomes in Quesnel, including Indigenous Elders, seniors and families, will soon have access to safe, affordable housing with construction underway on 35 new rental homes.

More people will be able to stay in an affordable home near their jobs, schools and loved ones as the Province ties the annual allowable rent increase to inflation at 2.3% in 2026, down from 3% in 2025.
