Putting his faith firmly in B.C.'s team, Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development Bill Bennett has accepted a challenge from Saskatchewan Minister of Sport Kevin Doherty to a friendly bet on this weekend's 2012 CJFL Canadian Bowl championship game.

If the Langley Rams defeat the defending champion Saskatoon Hilltops, Doherty will have to swallow his Saskatchewan pride and don a Rams' jersey for a day. Should the Rams lose to the Hilltops, Bennett will have to wear a Saskatoon jersey.

The B.C. government contributed $2500 in funding support through the Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development to the hosting of the Canadian Junior Football League Canadian Bowl.

The big game takes place this Saturday, Nov. 10, when the Rams play host to the Hilltops at McLeod Athletic Stadium in Langley. The Rams recently knocked off the Vancouver Island Raiders in the Cullen Cup to become champions of the B.C. Football Conference and advance to the Canadian Bowl. The Hilltops are two-time defending national champions and are looking to three-peat.
