On Sept. 29, 2012, Signature BC Liquor Stores will open their doors for the annual Bordeaux wine release. Much anticipated by wine aficionados and collectors who are interested in purchasing some of the world's finest wines, the 2009 release promises to be the most exciting yet.

Wine experts like Wine Advocate's Robert Parker and the Liquor Distribution Branch's own Master of Wine, Barbara Philip, consider 2009 to be an exceptional vintage.

Not long ago, Parker claimed 2005 Bordeaux wines might be the "perfect vintage." Today, Parker feels the 2009 vintage will surpass 2005 and could possibly be the "greatest vintage ever."

Each fall, three years after the vintage or year the grapes were grown, Bordeaux releases its wines globally. BC Liquor Stores is proud to feature a wide selection of the wines in its stores.

Now in its 27th year, the 2009 Bordeaux release in Signature BC Liquor Stores features more than 5,000 cases from 150 wineries, including many prominent Bordeaux wines. These select wines will be available to customers on a first-come, first-served basis.

Now a long standing tradition with Vancouver's wine fans, the formal Bordeaux release event takes place at the Signature BC Liquor Store located at 39th and Cambie. In good vintage years, like this one, it is not unusual to have customer lineups by early morning or sometimes days in advance.
