The Signature BC Liquor Store at 39th and Cambie is displaying 12 special bottles of Scotch whisky from The Macallan Fine & Rare Collection from Dec. 12 - 17. These rare whiskies will be offered for sale at 3 p.m. on Dec. 17, 2012.

The Macallan Fine & Rare Collection features bottles of exceptional single malt Scotch whisky dating from 1945 to 1989 that range in price from $3,000 to over $17,000 each. This is the largest collection from The Macallan Fine & Rare Collection in Canada.

On Dec. 17, The Macallan Brand Ambassador Dan Volway will host an afternoon tasting event from 1:30 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. featuring The Macallan Sherry Oak 12 and 18-year-old single malt Scotch at the BC Liquor Stores flagship store at 39th and Cambie. Following the tasting event, the 12 individual bottles from The Macallan Fine & Rare Collection will be available for purchase.

"Many people in B.C. appreciate The Macallan single malts," said Adele Shaw, the Liquor Distribution Branch's spirits portfolio manager. "It's exciting that we were able to secure this collection and provide an opportunity for our customers to view and buy these rare whiskies."

The Macallan Whisky maker and his team assessed hundreds of casks and their selection revealed an extraordinary diversity of colour, aroma and flavour. The Macallan's director of brand experience says the Fine & Rare Collection reflects The Macallan's history - from the lightly peated vintages to those with fresh, floral aromas or rich sherry flavours.
