Health Minister Terry Lake released the following statement on receiving Fraser Health’s strategic and operational plan, developed out of the in-depth review of the health authority that was announced on Nov. 1, 2013.
“Today, the board of the Fraser Health Authority has submitted to me their strategic plan that has been developed out of the in-depth review of the health authority’s operations.
“I want to thank the board, the Fraser Health executive and the review committee for the long hours of hard work they put into developing this report. They have truly shown their dedication to the people of Fraser Health.
“I know that there is considerable public interest in this report. I and my ministry have a responsibility to fully consider the plan and strategies to ensure they meet the legislated goals, as this plan will guide the health authority’s immediate and future work. We will take some time to review the report and recommendations and work with the board if any revisions are required.
“Once I am satisfied that the plan meets the goals we set when I announced the review - goals that will ultimately improve care and services for people of the region - Fraser Health will publish the full document and actions.
“I would expect that this will take place in the next few weeks.”
