The Ministry of Social Development and Social Innovation has begun consultation on family maintenance for those who are receiving income or disability assistance.

During the consultation, the ministry is seeking feedback from interested stakeholders, including child and youth advocacy groups, disability stakeholders and representatives of the family law community, on how it administers the program.

The process will be a focused consultation with stakeholders who will be asked to provide input on family maintenance. To support the consultation, the ministry has developed a series of questions on how it can best administer family maintenance-related services and policies for income and disability assistance clients.
