Under the School Act, Minister of Education Peter Fassbender has directed the Vancouver board of education to allow the special advisor appointed March 12, 2015, Kevin Brennan of Ernst & Young LLP, to complete the duties assigned under that order prior to adopting its budget.

The minister has also directed that prior to adopting the budget, the board, in any event, on or before June 15, 2015, submit for review by the Minister of Education, the penultimate budget which demonstrates that the board relied on the recommendations made by the special advisor in his report.
