The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died in a motor vehicle incident in Langley on Dec. 20, 2015.

He was Daniel Patrick McAuley, aged 44, of Langley.

Shortly before 2:30 a.m. on Dec. 20, 2015, a passing motorist spotted Mr. McAuley lying on the travelled portion of the roadway in the 2900-block 200th St. in Langley, a quiet residential street. Weather and visibility conditions were poor at the time. Mr. McAuley appears to have been hit by a motor vehicle which did not remain at the scene. Mr. McAuley was deceased at the scene.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this incident.

The family of Mr. McAuley has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
