The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who was found floating in the ocean near a Nanaimo marina on Jan. 23, 2016.
He was David Peters Middleton, aged 64, of Nanaimo.
Mr. Middleton lived aboard a boat moored at Stone’s Marina on Stewart Ave. in Nanaimo. On the morning of Jan. 23, 2016, others at the marina spotted Mr. Middleton floating in the waters of the marina. He was deceased at the scene. He had last been seen in the early morning hours ashore in Nanaimo.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
The family of Mr. Middleton has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
