The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died following an incident at the Catalyst paper mill in Crofton on Jan. 27, 2016.

He was Brian Norman Allen, aged 62, of Crofton.

Mr. Allen was a heavy machine operator at the mill. On the afternoon of Jan. 27, 2016, he was operating a bulldozer piling up hog fuel. In the early evening, the machine went off the high end of the pile. Mr. Allen was found later by fellow workers. He was deceased at the scene.

The BC Coroners Service, RCMP and WorkSafeBC continue to investigate this death.

The family of Mr. Allen has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
