The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after a motor vehicle incident in Chase on Feb. 6, 2016.
He is Austin Logan Schmidt, aged 19, of Chase.
Mr. Schmidt was the operator of a dirt-bike that was involved in a head-on collision with a semi-trailer unit on Highway 1 in Chase 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 6, 2016. He was deceased at the scene.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
Mr. Schmidt’s family has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service requests that the media respect their privacy during this difficult time.
