The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died following a trailer fire in Comox on Feb. 8, 2016.
He was Alexander Ervine Ackerman, aged 91, of Comox.
About 4 a.m. on Feb. 8, 2016, neighbours noticed that the double-wide mobile home in which Mr. Ackerman lived in the 1100-block of Lazo Rd. was on fire. They called 911, and the Comox Fire Department extinguished the blaze. When they searched the home, Mr. Ackerman was discovered inside the trailer, deceased.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
Mr. Ackerman’s family has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
