The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after a motor vehicle incident near Courtenay on Feb. 10, 2016.
He is Sean William Owens, aged 24, of Comox.
Mr. Owens was the driver and sole occupant of a car that left the road and crashed in the 800-block of Forbidden Plateau Road near Courtenay in the evening of Feb. 10, 2016. Mr. Owens was deceased at the scene. The car had been reported stolen in Courtenay earlier that day.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
Mr. Owens’ family has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service requests that the media respect their privacy during this difficult time.
