The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a woman who died after a skiing incident at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort near Golden on Feb. 9, 2016.
She is Anne Woods, aged 55, of Crawley, West Sussex, England.
Ms. Woods was one of a group of eight persons from Great Britain who were visiting and skiing in the Rockies. On Feb. 9, 2016, they were skiing at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort when, in the late morning hours, Ms. Woods was involved in a collision with a snowboarder. She was airlifted to Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta, but succumbed there to her injuries on Feb. 11.
The BC Coroners Service, Alberta Medical Examiner’s Office and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
Ms. Woods’s family has been notified of her death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service requests that the media respect their privacy during this difficult time.
