The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man and a woman who died in a motor vehicle related incident near Tete Jaune Cache on March 16, 2016.
They are Karmen Anne McGee, aged 25, of New Westminster, and Bruce Donald Sykes, aged 64, of Vernon.
At about 8:30 a.m. on March 16, 2016, Ms. McGee was driving an SUV southbound on Highway 16 when, about four kilometres east of Tete Jaune Cache, her vehicle collided with a loaded northbound tractor-trailer unit driven by Mr. Sykes. Both were deceased at the scene.
The BC Coroners Service, WorkSafeBC, Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement, and RCMP continue to investigate this incident.
The families of both victims have been notified of their deaths. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
