The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a woman who was found deceased on Lewis Beach in Nanaimo on March 15, 2016.
She is Mei Ying Zhang, aged 83, of Nanaimo.
Passersby walking on the beach discovered Ms. Zhang on the beach, deceased, at about 2 p.m. on March 15. Identification was confirmed after Ms. Zhang’s family had reported her missing to the RCMP.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
The family of Ms. Zhang has been notified of her death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
