The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of two persons who died after an air crash near Nakusp on April 11, 2016.

They were Lynndon Wayne Delisle, aged 58, and his wife Heather Lynn Delisle, aged 54, both of Wynyard, Saskatchewan.  

Mr. Delisle was the pilot of, and his wife the passenger in, a Rockwell 112 airplane. They were flying from Kelowna east to Saskatchewan when the aircraft crashed near the west end of Trout Lake about 25 kilometres east of Galena Bay on the afternoon of April 11, 2016. A signal from the plane’s beacon was picked up by a commercial aircraft, the crew of which summoned search-and-rescue personnel. Both Mr. and Mrs. Delisle were found deceased at the scene.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.

The Delisles’ family has been notified of their deaths. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service requests that the media respect their privacy during this difficult time.
