The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after a motor vehicle incident near Blind Bay on May 6, 2016.
He was Brody Lane Richard Southwell, aged 19, of Blind Bay, a small community on the south shore of Shuswap Lake northwest of Salmon Arm.
Mr. Southwell was riding in a car that went out of control, struck a culvert and rolled several times in the 2600 block of Blind Bay Road shortly after 2:30 a.m. on May 6, 2016. Mr. Southwell was deceased at the scene.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate this death.
Mr. Southwell’s family has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service requests that the media respect their privacy during this difficult time.
