The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died following a trailer fire near Nanaimo on June 9, 2016.
He was Cyril Godfrey Norris, aged 72, of Nanaimo.
About 5 a.m. on June 9, 2016, neighbours noticed that the trailer in which Mr. Norris lived in the Petroglyph Trailer Park in the 1000-block of Chase River Road was on fire. They called 911, and the Nanaimo Fire Department extinguished the blaze. When they searched the home, Mr. Norris was discovered inside the trailer, deceased.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
Mr. Norris’s family has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
