The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after a motor vehicle incident in Lake Cowichan on Aug. 10, 2016.
He is Spencer William Gledhill, aged 45, of Youbou.
Mr. Gledhill was operating a motorcycle on Wellington Road in Lake Cowichan about 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 10, 2016, when his motorcycle left the travelled road surface, jumped the curb and hit some boulders. Mr. Gledhill was taken to Cowichan District Hospital, but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at hospital.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
Mr. Gledhill’s family has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service requests that the media respect their privacy during this difficult time.
