The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died following a workplace accident on a Surrey farm on Oct. 6, 2016.
He was Kenneth Mark Nootebos, aged 51, of Surrey.
Mr. Nootebos was part of a crew working on a mechanical beet-harvesting project on a farm located on 40th Avenue in Surrey. At about 2:45 p.m. on Oct. 6, 2016, he became entrapped in some of the machinery. He was deceased at the scene.
The BC Coroners Service, WorkSafeBC and Surrey RCMP continue to investigate this incident.
The family of Mr. Nootebos has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service strongly asks that media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
