The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a woman who died following a scuba-diving incident in West Vancouver on Oct. 9, 2016.
She was Michelle Leah Norman, aged 44, of Surrey.
On Oct. 9, 2016, Ms. Norman was participating in a deep-water specialty scuba diving class which was taking place at Whytecliff Park in West Vancouver in an area locally known as "the cut." While on a dive, Ms. Norman went into distress, and upon regaining the surface, she could not be resuscitated.
The BC Coroners Service and West Vancouver Police continue to investigate this death.
Ms. Norman’s family has been notified of her death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
