The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a woman who was found deceased following a house mobile home fire in Clearwater on Dec. 1, 2016.

She was Liane Marianne McDonald, aged 61, of Clearwater.  

Ms. McDonald was home alone in the mobile home where she resided in the 900-block of Mountainview Road on the evening of Dec. 1, 2016, when, shortly before 10 p.m., neighbours noticed smoke coming from the structure. They called 911, but despite extensive efforts, were unable to rescue Ms. McDonald. Once the fire department had extinguished the blaze, Ms. McDonald was found to be deceased.  

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.

Ms. McDonald’s family has been notified of her death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
