The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a male who died after a motor vehicle incident near Hope on Dec. 15, 2016.
He was Jason Cousins, aged 46, of Abbotsford.
Mr. Cousins was the driver and sole occupant of a jeep that was heading eastbound on Highway 1 at about 2 p.m. on Dec. 15, 2016, when, near the Laidlaw exit, it left the travelled surface of the highway, hit a light standard and rolled. Mr. Cousins was deceased at the scene.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
Mr. Cousins’ family has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service requests that the media respect their privacy during this difficult time.
