Due to reduced fire activity and recent progress made by firefighting crews, the BC Wildfire Service has rescinded the Order to Restrict Access that was implemented on July 12, 2017, for areas around the Sutherland Road fire.
That order is no longer in place, effective immediately. Members of the public may once again use the Sutherland Forest Service Road, Barlow Forest Service Road and Barlow-Rat Forest Service Road.
Although the status of the Sutherland Road wildfire is now “under control” and no further spread of the fire is expected, the BC Wildfire Service is reminding people that it remains an active wildfire and they should exercise caution when travelling in the area.
Information regarding the evacuation alert related to this wildfire can be found on the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako’s website: www.rdbn.bc.ca
