A resurfacing project has been set for the upcoming construction season to improve the condition of Beaver Creek Road for travellers and extend the life of the road surface.
“Keeping provincial highways, bridges and side roads in good condition is a key priority in B.C. on the Move,” said Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Todd Stone. “This project will benefit commercial traffic, local residents, and tourists accessing Stamp River Provincial Park.”
The construction tender to resurface the eight-kilometre-long section of Beaver Creek Road from Pierce Road to Wardrop Road is posted on BC Bid. Work is expected to start later this spring and wrap up by fall 2017. During construction, crews will make every effort to ensure traffic delays related to construction are kept minimal. Some single lane alternating will be required and drivers are reminded to obey traffic control personnel and construction speed limits, and watch for workers and message boards.
This project is part of B.C. on the Move, the Province’s 10-year transportation plan. Over the next three years, the ministry and its partners are investing over $4.6 billion in priority transportation investments as part of this plan.
