Katrine Conroy, Minister of Children and Family Development, has released the following statement on the selection of Jennifer Charlesworth as the unanimously recommended candidate for B.C.’s representative for children and youth:
“I’d like to congratulate Dr. Charlesworth as the recommended candidate to be the new representative for children and youth, and thank the bipartisan committee for its work in leading the selection process.
“The office of the representative serves a crucial function to advocate on behalf of some of the most vulnerable children and youth in British Columbia. I want to take this opportunity to recognize Bernard Richard for his dedicated service in that role, and to wish him the best in his future endeavours.
“My ministry will continue to work with the representative’s office, in the spirit of collaboration and our shared desire to improve outcomes for children, youth and families, as we await official confirmation of Dr. Charlesworth’s appointment by the legislature this fall.”
