Bruce Ralston, Minister of Jobs, Trade and Technology, has issued the following statement on the release of the November Labour Force Survey:
“People and communities in British Columbia are benefiting from continued strong employment.
“B.C.’s strong jobs numbers and latest fiscal update show that we can have a truly balanced budget with a robust surplus, while investing in people and making life more affordable.
“For the 15th month in a row, B.C. had the lowest unemployment rate in the country at 4.4% and, in the past year, employment in the province increased by 42,500 jobs.
“British Columbia is on track to be one of Canada’s strongest economies in 2018 and 2019. Our approach has put us on a strong economic course and is making the economy work for people.
“People in B.C. are working hard and deserve a government that works for them. We will continue to make historic investments in child care, housing, education and health care because investing in people pays dividends.”
