The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is looking for the public’s feedback on an upcoming project designed to reduce congestion and improve safety along the Haney Bypass in Maple Ridge.
A public information session will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the ACT Arts Centre in Maple Ridge. Ministry staff will be on hand to provide information, present designs and answer questions. This project will address four congested areas along Highway 7. Project staff will focus on:

- the reconfiguration of the intersection of Highway 7 and Kanaka Way;
- a new traffic signal at Highway 7 and Callaghan Avenue; and
- a new traffic signal at Highway 7 at 227th Street.
The ministry will consider all feedback and input gathered at the public information session. In addition, BC Housing and the City of Maple Ridge will be in attendance to address questions.
These Highway 7 upgrades are part of an overall $70-million strategy for the Pitt Meadows, Maple Ridge and Mission corridor. The Government of British Columbia is contributing $16.9 million and the Government of Canada is contributing $5.4 million for the Haney Bypass Intersection Improvement Project, with future improvements coming for the Highway 7 corridor through Mission and Pitt Meadows.
