The BC Coroners Service has scheduled a public inquest into the death of Bradley Gregory Martins Graham.
The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on May 21, 2019, at the Victoria Law Courts (850 Burdett Ave., Victoria).
Graham, 33, died March 6, 2016, at Victoria General Hospital after being transferred from the Vancouver Island Regional Correctional Centre where he had been found unresponsive in his cell. The Coroners Act permits the chief coroner to hold an inquest if the public has an interest in being informed of the circumstances surrounding a death.
Presiding coroner Larry Marzinzik and a jury will hear evidence from witnesses under oath to determine the facts surrounding this death. The jury will have the opportunity to make recommendations aimed at preventing deaths under similar circumstances. A jury must not make any finding of legal responsibility or express any conclusion of law.
