Using ICBC's online estimator
  • The information a customer can see using the tool depends on their insurance renewal date:
    • Customers who need to renew before May 1, 2021, will see what their next renewal will cost and what savings they can get on optional insurance under the current insurance model.
    • Customers whose renewal is after May 1 will see how affordable their insurance will be under Enhanced Care and how much ICBC will owe them in a refund.
  • In addition to seeing how much they will save under Enhanced Care, customers can use the tool to add or remove drivers listed on their policy and change coverage limits and deductibles to see how those changes affect their premiums.
  • The tool also allows a customer to sign up for direct deposit and email communication from ICBC – an important step in ICBC’s work to offer customers more digital services.
  • The tool can handle up to 1,000 customer renewal estimations at a time. If that capacity is exceeded, customers will be able to access a general estimate of their overall refund, based on their existing policy, while they wait for user volume to decrease. Accessing the full tool allows a user to modify coverage choices and verify their renewal cost.
  • Additional discounts not reflected in the tool, such as a low-kilometre or advanced safety technology discount, may be available to customers. They can ask about these discounts through their broker when they renew their auto insurance.
