Community Emergency Preparedness Fund recipients

The Community Emergency Preparedness Fund is administered through the Union of BC Municipalities and supports projects that strengthen the resilience of First Nations and local governments in responding to and preparing for natural disasters and climate change.

First Nations and local governments throughout British Columbia will receive $432,400 in provincial Community Emergency Preparedness Funds as follows.

Cowichan Tribes – Extreme Temperature Risk Mapping, Assessment and Planning
Total funding: $30,000

Ehattesaht First Nation – Extreme Heat Risk Mapping, Assessment and Planning
Total funding: $30,000

Kelowna – Extreme Cold Weather Operations for People Sheltering Outdoors
Total funding: $30,000

Kitasoo Xai’xais Nation – Extreme Temperature Risk Assessment and Response Plan
Total funding: $30,000
