These new units will increase the housing options for people in Castlegar. • The Province, through BC Housing, is providing a $3.3 million Cost Pressure Grant to the project.
• The Province and the federal government provided $1.3 million from the BC Priorities Housing Initiative Provincial Matching Grant and $320,000 from the BC Priorities Housing Initiative Grant, both jointly funded through the Canada–British Columbia Bilateral Agreement under the National Housing Strategy,
• The federal government provided $650,000 through the National Housing Co-Investment Fund (NHCF).
• The Kootenay Society for Community Living provided $1 million in capital and the land for the project.
• Columbia Basin Trust, through the Columbia Basin Affordable Housing Program, developed in partnership with BC Housing, is contributing $821,000.
• The City of Castlegar waived fees totalling $48,000 for this development.
