Funding for new projects in Rossland and Fruitvale

1920 Third Ave., Rossland:

  • The Province, through BC Housing, provided approximately $5.9 million to the project, including:
    • A $4.9-million grant through the Investment in Affordable Housing program; and
    • Approximately $1.1 million from the Columbia Basin Investment in Affordable Housing program.
  • The City of Rossland provided the land and costs for construction of city hall.
  • The Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ Green Municipal Fund, an endowment created by the Government of Canada, provided $3.2 million, including more than $1.5 million in loans and more than $1.5 million in grants.

96 Deadmarsh Ave., Fruitvale:

  • The Province, through BC Housing, is providing approximately $3.5 million from the Building BC: Community Housing Fund to the project and will provide annual operating funding.
  • The Columbia Basin Trust is providing a grant of approximately $742,000.
  • The Village of Fruitvale is leasing the land for the project to the Lower Columbia Affordable Housing Society at a nominal rate.
