BC Builds projects in the Kootenays

Administered by BC Housing, BC Builds is supported through an investment of $950 million from the Province to ensure units are available at below-market rates, as well as $2 billion in provincial low-cost construction financing and an additional $2 billion in financing from the Government of Canada.

  • BC Builds projects are expected to deliver 8,000 to 10,000 homes for people with middle incomes over the first five years of the program. 
  • In addition to the Nelson and Fernie projects, five other BC Builds projects have also been announced, including:
    • 571 Shaw Rd., Gibsons, 33 homes
    • 225 2nd St. E, North Vancouver, 178 homes
    • 1210 Seymour St., Vancouver, 112 homes
    • 222 Cowichan Way, Duncan, 199 homes
    • 1475 Mount Fee Rd., Whistler, 104 homes
  • BC Builds has also announced nine other pre-zoned BC Builds sites on public lands.
