The Robson Square ice rink is now open, and people are invited to lace up their skates and enjoy winter fun in the heart of downtown Vancouver.
The Robson Square ice rink is a favourite holiday tradition for Vancouver families and visitors alike. More than 100,000 skaters visit the rink each year.
Live music will also be offered nightly Dec. 13-24 from 6-9 p.m. and weekends from 2:30-4:30 p.m. through a partnership with the Vancouver Hotels Destination Association, and there will be additional theme nights throughout January and February. Skate rentals are free for everyone on Family Day: Monday, Feb. 16, 2026.
Through the Robson Square school skate program, Lower Mainland students in grades 4 to 7 can take advantage of free skating, skate rentals and skating lessons. In 2024-25, 5,838 students from 74 different schools participated in the program.
Quick Facts:
- The ice rink is open seven days a week, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m., from Friday, Nov. 28, 2025 until Feb. 28, 2026 (weather permitting), with reduced hours of noon until 5 p.m. on Christmas Day.
- Hot chocolate and snacks are available for sale at the ice rink’s concession stand.
- The Robson Square ice rink opened in 1982 and is Vancouver’s only outdoor public skating rink.
