Quote:
Minister of Energy and Mines Bill Bennett -
"As one of B.C.'s largest and oldest industries, mining plays a huge role in the daily lives of British Columbians-helping to make B.C. the great place that it is to live, work and play. Those who work in the sector make an important contribution to the economy and to families across the province. So, this mining week we not only celebrate this vital industry, but we recognize those who have had a hand in making mining in B.C. the great industry it is today and applaud their commitment to ensuring it remains a vibrant and strong sector."
