VICTORIA - Energy and Mines Minister Bill Bennett tours BC Hydro’s Horsey Substation in Victoria showcasing the approximate $95 million worth of service, security and seismic upgrades being done to meet the demand for electricity and improve reliability for customers in the Capital Regional District.
The upgrades include seismic improvements to the Horsey Substation near Mayfair Mall, expansion of the George Tripp Substation in Saanich and the addition of a new underground transmission line between the two substations that will increase reliability of service, system security, and meet future load growth.
The Horsey Substation is one of the largest and most important substations serving Victoria— and 74,000 customers.
