Adult learners in Cranbrook will benefit from one-time targeted funding of $59,200 for College of the Rockies to support literacy programs.

Adults with low-to moderate-incomes will soon be able to apply for new affordable rental housing at Sonja’s Garden in Cranbrook, which celebrated the addition of 18 units last night.

The Province is supporting the largest professional sporting event ever to be held in Cranbrook, when the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling Tour Challenge comes to the city from Nov. 8-13.

Students, teachers and staff at Jaffray Elementary/Junior Secondary school in the Southeast Kootenay school district will benefit from $556,785 in provincial School Enhancement Program funding.  

Under the BC Rural Dividend, the Province is providing $204,992 to three successful proponents in the Cranbrook area, MLA for Kootenay East Bill Bennett announced.

Comments are being accepted until Nov. 7, 2016, on two discussion papers released as part of comprehensive timber supply reviews for the Cranbrook and Invermere timber supply areas.

Aboriginal students at the College of the Rockies and Selkirk College will benefit from a range of new and expanded programs as the result of receiving $75,000 in one-time funding.

A stewardship management agreement between the Cranbrook Snowmobile Club and the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations will help protect endangered mountain caribou from snowmobilers.
