Drivers can expect the following delays on the TransCanada Highway, 19 kilometres west of Revelstoke, as crews work to install the Remote Avalanche Control Systems.

Several repaving projects, including the resurfacing of over 60 kilometres of Highway 23N, will soon be underway in the Revelstoke area, bringing smoother roads and a more comfortable ride for local motorists, cyclists, tourists and industry.

David Wilks, Member of Parliament for Kootenay – Columbia was joined by Greg Kyllo, British Columbia Member of the Legislative Assembly for Shuswap, to jointly announce funding for the upgrade and expansion of Highway 1 near Revelstoke that will increase safety for all drivers and improve the efficiency of this important regional and trans-provincial route.

Resurfacing work will be done this year on Highway 1 and Highway 23 in the Revelstoke area, to improve the safety and ride along these important highway corridors.

Work is about to begin to replace the Clanwilliam Bridge over the Canadian Pacific mainline west of Revelstoke. The new bridge and widening of the adjacent highway will improve the safety of the Trans-Canada Highway through the area.
