Two more Vancouver Island schools are seismically safer now that the partial replacement of Ucluelet Secondary is complete.

The governments of Canada and British Columbia continue to invest in local infrastructure during this unprecedented time to meet the needs of communities across the province, enhance peoples’ quality of life, and support economic recovery from COVID-19. 

Students in Ucluelet and Tofino are a step closer to a seismically safe Ucluelet Elementary, a partial replacement of Ucluelet Secondary and a new Neighbourhood Learning Centre as construction is now underway.

Seismic upgrades at Ucluelet Elementary school and a partial replacement of Ucluelet Secondary school will give west coast students better and safer schools for decades to come.

Construction activities on Highway 4 at Kennedy Hill will begin the week of May 7, 2018.

Based on community feedback, the traffic-stoppage schedule has been adjusted to better accommodate tourists and local commuters before construction begins next month on Highway 4 at Kennedy Hill.

The Find Your Fit tour stop in Ucluelet is a great opportunity for students to get valuable hands-on experience with helpful career-planning tools.

The public is invited to attend drop-in information sessions in Tofino and Ucluelet about upcoming improvements to Highway 4 at Kennedy Lake. 

The B.C. government has approved a Crown land transfer to the District of Ucluelet that will enable the creation of a historic museum, enhancements to the area’s trail network, viewing areas and visitor amenities, and the preservation of important historical structures.
