If you’re entering the market to buy your first home, the B.C. government is launching a new program to partner with you on the down payment for your mortgage, Premier Christy Clark announced today.

B.C. hotels and resorts with a bar, pub or restaurant on site will soon be able to allow their guests to carry unfinished liquor from their licensed establishment directly to their rooms, a move that provides flexibility for businesses and increases convenience for British Columbians and visitors to the province.

The B.C. government has distributed over $2.3 million in compensation for municipal property taxes to the City of Vancouver and the City of North Vancouver.

The B.C. government’s commitment in the #BCTECH Strategy to improve access to capital is paying off as B.C. tech companies are taking advantage of the Province’s venture capital programs to reach new levels of growth.  

Students at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) are benefitting from $250,000 in program and equipment funding as they prepare for in-demand careers in computer and information technology.

Government is investing more than $630,000 to find new ways for refugees and immigrants to join British Columbia’s growing economy.

More than 60 teachers from the Lower Mainland gathered at the Microsoft Centre of Excellence in downtown Vancouver to learn basic coding techniques from some of the best instructors in the industry – all to make sure B.C. students have the skills they need to succeed in today’s changing world.
