Women and children leaving violence in West Kelowna now have access to 55 new safe places, with a partnership between the Province through BC Housing and Kelowna Women’s Shelter.

A new 1,200-seat secondary school in West Kelowna will provide students with a modern place to learn by 2027.

Drivers are advised that starting on Monday, Oct. 18, repairs will be carried out on Whiteman Bridge on Westside Road through Okanagan Indian Band Reserve to keep the bridge in good operating condition for the travelling public.

To help people experiencing homelessness in the community, the Province is extending the Westbank United Church shelter until more supportive homes open in the area.

Responding to urgent need in the community, the Government of B.C. is opening a new temporary shelter to ensure people experiencing homelessness have a warm, dry and safe place to stay throughout the winter season.

Another section of Westside Road in West Kelowna will undergo widening this fall, better accommodating all road users and improving safety along this stretch.
