The Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development plans to conduct a series of ecosystem restoration burns southwest of Williams Lake between April 23 and May 15, 2018, weather conditions permitting.

The Cariboo Fire Centre is encouraging the public to exercise caution with any outdoor burning activities, due to predicted windy conditions in the region that could bring gusts up to 40 kilometres per hour to some areas on Saturday.

The Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development plans to conduct a 500-hectare prescribed burn in the Crows Bar area between April 16 and April 30, 2018, weather and site conditions permitting.

Effective at noon on Monday, April 23, 2018, Category 3 open fires will be prohibited throughout the Cariboo Fire Centre to help prevent human-caused wildfires and protect public safety.

The BC Wildfire Service is planning to conduct a series of open burns in the Horse Lake community near 100 Mile, as part of the ranchettes community-forest project.

Under the BC Rural Dividend Program, the Government of British Columbia is providing $100,000 to the Invasive Species Council of BC (ISCBC), Doug Donaldson, Minister of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development, announced today.
