Fifteen people will be invested into the Order of British Columbia during a ceremony at Government House on Friday, June 28, 2019, at 11 a.m.

Premier John Horgan has released the following statement in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy:

Fifteen exceptional people will be appointed to the Order of British Columbia, the Province's highest form of recognition, Lt. Gov. Janet Austin, chancellor of the order, has announced. This marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the order.

More people throughout British Columbia will benefit from increased access to French public library e-books and audiobooks, helping meet the growing demand for French-language materials.

Under the theme "Honouring our B.C. Francophone History," Adrian Dix, Minister of Health and Minister Responsible for Francophone Affairs in B.C., has announced that March 20, 2019, will be proclaimed B.C. Francophonie Day.

Budget 2019 is creating opportunities for all British Columbians by delivering a new B.C. Child Opportunity Benefit for kids up to the age of 18, removing interest from B.C. student loans, reducing taxes for businesses and investing in clean energy and climate solutions.
