To help bolster B.C.’s ship-repair capacity, foster economic growth and create good jobs for people in the Alberni Valley, the Province is supporting a study for the market potential of a floating dry-dock project in Port Alberni.

Bruce Ralston, Minister of Jobs, Trade and Technology, has made the following statement after the federal-provincial-territorial meeting with ministers responsible for immigration:

Five projects were posted to BC Bid today, as the Province launches the second year of the B.C. Startup in Residence (STIR) pilot program.

To help make it easier for tech and innovation companies to recruit top international talent to British Columbia, the Province is extending its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) tech pilot program for another year.

The Government of British Columbia has underscored its commitment to work with Indigenous peoples in the spirit of respect and collaboration by introducing a set of draft principles designed to guide the daily work of provincial government employees. Don Wright, head of the BC Public Service shared the draft principles with all 27,000 public service employees on Tuesday, May 22, 2018.
