Bruce Ralston, Minister of Jobs, Trade and Technology, has issued the following statement on the release of the September Labour Force Survey:
“The latest results show that British Columbia’s economy is working for people, with B.C. continuing to be a leader in Canada in wage growth. Strong increases in full-time jobs in both the private and public sectors, and higher wages, mean that people are finding good family-supporting jobs in their communities.
“In September 2018, B.C. added 35,800 private-sector jobs.
“B.C. had the lowest unemployment rate in Canada for the 13th month in a row and the lowest youth unemployment rate. This shows that B.C.’s economy is working for people of all ages.
“Maintaining this strong performance will require continued work. Our government remains committed to training, creating new opportunities and ensuring everyone benefits.
“British Columbians are working hard and finally seeing the benefits of our strong economic growth.”
