Randene Neill, Minister of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship, has released the following statement after the annual meeting of the Canadian Council of Fisheries and Aquaculture Ministers (CCFAM) in Iqaluit, Nunavut, on August 28 and 29, 2025:

The ministers of Environment and Parks, Tamara Davidson, and Mining and Critical Minerals (MCM), Jagrup Brar, have issued a consent order to Mount Polley Mining Corporation for a material alteration to the Mount Polley Mine to expand its Springer Pit.

To address a recommendation from the auditor general, the Province has established a method for carbon modelling in timber supply reviews (TSRs). 

Food and beverage producers and processors in British Columbia are getting help to increase sales and build export markets so the province has a more resilient and diverse economy in the future.

Approximately 75 poultry farms in the Fraser Valley will be upgrading their barns to reduce the risk of avian influenza and to support the supply of B.C. eggs and chicken that families throughout the province depend on as a trusted source of protein.

Families in Mission will now have access to a new child care centre with 67 new licensed spaces.
