On October 16, 2015, men throughout Canada are asked to take part in the ritual of fasting to pledge their support to end violence against Aboriginal women and children. Men are invited to fast - refrain from eating and drinking - from sun up until sun down.

The Union of BC Municipalities annual convention was held in Vancouver, B.C. September 21-25 at the Vancouver Convention Centre. Minister of Jobs, Tourism and Skills Training along with the Industry Training Authority (ITA) announced today that a new trades training program  will be offered in B.C. starting October 2015 that will provide Aboriginal people with skills training and work experience necessary to be employed by a wide variety of general contractors and to fill the growing demand for labour in the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) sector.
