Arrangements are being made to ensure that British Columbians continue to receive cheques and critical documents in the event of a Canada Post labour disruption.

Eligible applicants, including Internet service providers, are encouraged to apply for nearly $3 million available through the Connecting British Columbia program to improve high-speed Internet access in rural and remote communities.

More than three million BC Services Cards have now been issued, giving the majority of British Columbians a secure government identity card designed to make it easier to access government services, while protecting personal information and helping to reduce fraud and risk of identity theft.

Following a court decision to allow campers to stay at the Victoria courthouse site through the summer, the provincial government is working with the City of Victoria, along with fire and police officials, to develop a plan for safety standards to better protect people at the site and nearby residents.
